Overflow Hotels Now Available!

The main hotel has stayed very full and while openings do crop up from time to time they sell quickly. We have negotiated 2 cost effective overflow hotels for those that don't mind not being in the main hotel that are about 1 mile away. Check them out on our Hotel Page

Many have raised concerns about recent changes in Florida legislation. After reviewing Florida SB 1438 it has been decided that for legal reasons and protection of our attendees, our venue, and the overall convention, Megaplex 2023 attendees must be 18 years of age at the time of registration pickup. Megaplex has welcomed younger fandom members and their families since its inception and making this change was very difficult. The Code of Conduct has been updated to reflect this change and emails are going out to those affected. While this change impacts the 2023 convention, it is unsure if this will have to continue for future years. It is our hope that this change is temporary and that we can welcome members of all ages back next year. With this in mind, the public decorum portion of the Code of Conduct as well as standards for programming, attire, and behavior in convention space will not be changing and will continue to be enforced as has been in the past.

This decision has been a difficult one, but Megaplex has not forgotten about or abandoned our younger fandom members and is looking into options for events and activities to include all age ranges and their family members.

Many have also voiced concerns regarding CS/HB 1521. After Legal review, it has been concluded that this does not affect us as our convention is held in a private venue. We are talking with the hotel about the possibility of offering gender neutral restrooms in the convention space.  If we are able to offer this we will have them clearly marked on our convention map.

Megaplex’s paramount concern is the safety of our attendees. Recent proposals by the Florida state government may change state laws regarding COVID-19 policies. To comply with potential state law, Megaplex will have the following as our projected COVID-19 policies for 2023:

1) While state law will prohibit us from requiring and/or requesting proof of vaccination, and may prevent us from implementing a masking policy, Megaplex STRONGLY recommends, but will not require, masking in confined or densely populated areas and recommends that all attendees be fully vaccinated and fully boosted as of Sept 1st, 2023.

2) Megaplex will have disposable masks available while supplies last.

3) Any policies listed are subject to change due to: new CDC requirements, potential legal changes, or unforeseen circumstances that may require an amendment to our policy.

If you are feeling unwell we ask that you stay home for the safety of yourself and others. For those who test positive before the convention and are unable to attend, we will rollover your registration to 2024 - contact us at mp-registration [at]

For those not wanting or able to attend Megaplex this year, we will be streaming live the majority of events in Main Events during the convention and many of the videos will be on our YouTube channel in the weeks afterward.

If you're posting to Twitter, please mention MegaplexCon & #LoveMP2023. Increase your chances of winning by posting up to 5 unique photos of Megaplex! (This is 5 photos total, not 5 on each site)

We'll be picking out 2 random winners on March 1. The top prizes are FREE membership (or an upgrade) along with art of your character featured in a "Megaplex: Be Anything! Do Anything!" poster in the hallways at Megaplex 2023.

You must be the owner or subject of the photo, or otherwise have permission from the owner, to submit it as your own entry. You may post up to 5 unique photos from a single account to increase your chances of winning. Each of the first 5 unique photos posted counts as a unique entry. Posting the same photo, or photos containing nearly identical content, on Twitter and/or Facebook does not increase chances of winning. Entries must be in the form of a post to the MegaplexCon facebook page or a tweet on Twitter mentioning Megaplexcon. Entries must not contain obscene or shocking content. Two random winners will be drawn from the valid entries collected during the month of February. The winners will be announced on Thursday, March 2nd. The drawn winners will be given a free registration for Megaplex 2023 September 15th-17th. The winners will also be offered to have a custom character featured on poster art that will be displayed at Megaplex 2022 as part of the convention’s “Be Anything! Do Anything!" theme.
