Chairman's Update
Hi everyone!
With Halloween just around the corner, it's time for a quick update on how Megaplex 2009 is progressing.
We're quite excited with the enthusiastic response we're getting from friends and fans all over the world that are inquiring about MP2009. As a reminder, we're going to have the incomparable "Big Blue Fox" coming all the way from Germany to be our Guest of Honor. We're really can't wait to see what special dance BBF will cook up for us.
We've also added a few new members to the Megaplex staff. As JR has previously mentioned, we've added the combined talents of Wildwolf and Takala to our fursuiting track, and 2 the Ranting Gryphon is joining us on our Charity Auction drive. We have many others who have recently expressed some interest in joining our staff. We look forward to working with all of our new staffers as we continue towards next year's convention.
We'll be updating our web site shortly with some fantastic new art from our good friend Henrieke, and posting information about room reservations at the hotel very shortly. We know that many of our attendees are wanting to keep costs low, so we want to remind everyone that we've done our very best to keep rates affordable. Standard rooms at the hotel are going to be $89 a night plus Tax! We've also confirmed with the hotel that there are no extra parking fees.
What else is in the works for Megaplex? We're looking at some new and exciting changes for our fursuit games, we're exploring the concept behind hosting a Pinewood Derby race, and of course, we're working on the option for fursuit go cart and mini-golf outings. We are also working on a special event for Saturday morning that we feel will be fun for all Megaplex attendees. (Don't forget that Saturday is July 25...that's "Christmas in July"...so there could be special surprises in store.)
For our musical guests, we are working to bring back the fun-tastic Bucktown Tiger and the incomperable Matthew "Hali" Ebel. Stay tuned for details!
We do have spaces that are available our dealer room. So if you're interested in acquiring a dealer table, be sure to register early and get a table!
Registration for the convention is now OPEN. So if you are making plans to attend, you can do register online.
If you will be attending and wish to run a panel or event, please let us know. Also let us know what you'd like to see next year. We're about 9 months away form the convention...so we have time to develop any really fun ideas that you may have. :)
We are planning to hold an open forum meeting for anyone to attend. We'll post more details about that meeting soon!
