Air Travel to Kissimmee / Orlando

There are two major airports serving the greater Orlando area:
  • Orlando International Airport (MCO), located about twenty-three (23) miles east of the hotel. This is the closest airport to the hotel.
  • Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB), located about fifty (50) miles north-east of the hotel. This is a smaller airport that is claimed to be a bit friendlier, less busy, and can sometimes have cheaper fares. However, one thing to check on is the cost of getting from this airport to the hotel - with a fifty mile ground trip, it may still be cheaper to fly into MCO.

TSA Updates

Before heading out to your local airport, be sure to check the Transportation Security Administration website for the latest updates on what you can and cannot bring onto an airplane, as well as other possible travel restrictions that may affect you.

International Travelers

If you will be arriving from outside the United States, please be sure to review these International Travel to the United States tips provided by WikiTravel. There are very specific guidelines and restrictions to getting into and out of the United States, and it is quite possible to be denied access if you haven't done all of the proper paperwork ahead of time.

Shuttle Services

There are shuttle services available from the Orlando International Airport to the Radisson Worldgate, but none are free. While there are multiple services that you can pick from, here are listings for two that we know about:

  • Mears Transportation - offers group and round-trip discounts & has online booking. Individual rates are $20 One Way and $33 Round Trip. Here are directions for getting to the Mears counter at the Orlando International Airport:

    1. After exiting your aircraft, follow the signs to baggage claim A or B which should match the A or B gate you arrived in. The airline concourses are connected to the main terminal via an elevated tram. Exit the tram, and follow the signs to baggage claim A or B.
    2. Once you arrive at the main terminal and pass out of the security area, continue to follow the signs to Baggage Claim, and then take the escalator or elevator down to Baggage Claim on level two.
    3. After you claim your luggage, go to the Mears Motor Shuttle service counter -- you will find Mears locations on level two (Baggage Claim) and on level one. We suggest that you take the escalator or elevator from Baggage Claim to the level one Mears Service counters, which are inside the building, behind the bottom of the escalator or directly across from the level one elevators.
    4. Simply present your on-line ticket confirmation to the Mears representative and they will give you a shuttle pass and direct you to the appropriate shuttle staging area outside level one. Upon exiting the main terminal building on level one, present your shuttle pass to the Mears representative on the commercial vehicle curb. The Mears representative will direct you to the appropriate motor coach or shuttle van. The driver will load your luggage and take you the hotel.
  • Adriatic Transportation Inc - partnered with the Radisson Maingate hotel, Limosuine Service. - call 407-973-4100 to arrange pickup. Rates are $55 one way, or $100 Roundtrip.

Car Rental & Driving Directions

You could also rent a car at the airport, which would give you the ability to easily drive around to other places during your stay. If you choose to drive from the airport, here are step-by-step directions:
  1. Take the Beachline Expressway west from the airport for about 12 miles
  2. Exit onto Interstate 4 (Beachline Exit #1 / I-4 Exit # 72) going west on I-4 for about 8 miles
  3. Take Exit #64 (look for signs to Disney World) onto Highway 192 westbound
  4. Go three traffic lights past World Drive and through the light for Old Lake Wilson Rd.
  5. Maingate Lane will be the next road on your right. Turn down it, and the hotel will be on your right.
To get back to the airport, just reverse these directions.
